Alternating current versus Direct current

Alternating current:
It is an electric current which periodically reverses its direction.
Most electric power circuits is a sine wave.
Audio and radio signals carried on electric wires are examples.

Direct current:
It is an electric current which is unidirectional.
It can flow in a conductor such as wire, semiconductor or insulator.

Differences between Alternating current and Direct current:

Applications of Alternating current:
We use them in household application like fan, television or computer system.

Application of Direct current:
We use them in door bell, or battery supported items.
