frequency

Frequency:  No of occurrence of repeating event per unit time.

Relation between frequency and time:  Frequency is inversely proportional to time.
                     f=1/t.

Units of frequency:  The units will be in hertz.
1 hertz=1 cycles per second.
1 kilo hertz=1000 cycles per second.
1 mega hertz=1,000,000 cycles per second.
1 giga hertz=1,000,000,000 cycles per second.
1 tera hertz= 1,000,000,000,000 cycles per second.

Types of frequency:

Angular frequency:  It is denoted by omega.
Rate of change of angular displacement.

Spatial frequency:  Time axis is replaced by one or more spatial displacement axes.

Natural frequency:  The frequencies at which an object tends to vibrate with when hit, struck, plucked, strummed or somehow disturbed.

Interaction frequency:  It refers to no of social interaction per unit time.

Negative frequency:  It represent forward travelling waves.

Positive frequency:  It represent backward travelling waves.
